## Large Deviations for Multivalued Stochastic Differential Equations

We prove a large deviation principle of Freidlin–Wentzell type for multivalued stochastic differential equations with monotone drifts that in particular contain a class of SDEs with reflection in a convex domain.

## Concavity maximum principle for viscosity solutions of singular equations

We prove a concavity maximum principle for the viscosity solutions of certain fully nonlinear and singular elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations. Our results parallel and extend those obtained by Korevaar and Kennington for classical solutions of quasilinear equations. Applications are given in the case of the singular infinity Laplace operator.

## Preemptive scheduling of independent jobs on identical parallel machines subject to migration delays

We present hardness and approximation results for the problem of preemptive scheduling of *n* independent jobs on *m* identical parallel machines subject to a migration delay *d* with the objective to minimize the makespan. We give a sharp threshold on the value of *d* for which the complexity of the problem changes from polynomial time solvable to NP-hard. Next, we give initial results supporting a conjecture that there always exists an optimal schedule with at most *m* − 1 job migrations. Finally, we provide a *O*(*n*) time (1 + 1/log_{2}*n*)-approximation algorithm for *m* = 2.

## On time-periodic solutions of a quasilinear wave equation

Existence and regularization theorems are obtained for generalized solutions of a quasilinear wave equation with variable coefficients and homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. The nonlinear term either exhibits a power growth or satisfies a nonresonance condition.

We present here an extension of the theorem on asymptotic behavior of Fejér graph integrals stated in [7] to the case of integrals with more general kernels which allow for tapering. As a corollary, asymptotic normality results for tapered estimators are derived.

### Summary

This paper considers statistical process control (SPC) for the semiconductor manufacuturing industry, where automatic process adjustment and process maintenance are widely used. However, SPC has been developed in parts industry an, thus, application of SPC to chemical processes such as those in the semiconductor manufacuturinghas not been systematically investigated

Two case studies are presented; one is an example for process adjustment and the other is an example for process maintenance. Either of them is based on control charts and it is discussed how to take into account process autocorrelation.

## Two Conservative Difference Schemes for the Generalized Rosenau Equation

Numerical solutions for generalized Rosenau equation are considered and two energy conservative finite difference schemes are proposed. Existence of the solutions for the difference scheme has been shown. Stability, convergence, and priori error estimate of the scheme are proved using energy method. Numerical results demonstrate that two schemes are efficient and reliable.
